Meet Giselle
Pellon: Where do you find inspiration for your work?
Giselle: Sci-fi/fantasy, video games and Alexander McQueen.
P: What does your creative process entail?
G: My creative process usually starts when I am going to bed. I close my eyes and tell my brain to do it’s magic and it works! I write down my ideas, and awake refreshed and excited about starting a new project.
P: Why do you enjoy sewing/crafting/quilting?
G: It’s relaxing and I actually truly enjoy the process even though it can be painfully slow at times. With every project, I learn new techniques and new ways to do old things.
P: Do you create mainly for satisfaction, gifts, art or another reason?
G: Love.
P: What tips or tricks learned through experience can you share?
G: Be patient; take the time to do things right. A project with perfect end results will inspire you and give you the confidence to keep sewing and tackling new and more complicated projects.
P: When and why did you start sewing/quilting/crafting?
G: I was born into it! I made paper dolls as a kid, my mother went to F.I.T. and my grandmother was a pattern making teacher there.
P: What inspires you to start a project?
G: I’m constantly thinking about making new things. When I get stuck I go to the local book shop and seek out the most obscure magazine I can find. They don’t necessarily have to be fashion magazines, but they have to strike my creative cord just right.
